Window Dilemma

This is part of our ongoing series following a Kitchen Warehouse customer’s kitchen and bath remodel project. See the others here.

After figuring out flooring, the next thing I realized was that we had vinyl white windows in the kitchen and three wood windows in the dining room, which we were planning on replacing with vinyl sliders. However, our living room windows were black aluminum (not my choice – I inherited them), which were going to stick out like a sore thumb. In addition, we realized our south wall would also need a new window, since it had one that was black as well.

Here are some pictures of our windows, mid-remodel.

On the spot, we decided we needed to match the windows with vinyl on all windows and one wood one on the front to match our door. Our contractor Denny was great in helping us figure out what venting we would want on the windows.

Now our new kitchen, dining room and living room were going to have new windows and ventilation – and be wonderful all the way through the house. This is an example of how a kitchen and bath remodel can affect other rooms in your home. It is also an example of how lucky we were to have a skilled general contractor referred by The Kitchen Warehouse who could handle the windows and other rooms, in addition to the kitchen and bath.
